On THIS day... Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 @ 11:58am -about- 12:05pm, Mr. Barack Hussein Obama II. was sworn in as the 44th and first African-American President of the United States of America.
In the words of the old Christian hymnal... "Mine eyes have seen the coming of the glory of the Lord!"
Albeit, Obama is no saint, but he is definitely ONE man, who has the power and presence to bring MILLIONS of people together- in celebrating our uniqueness and collective togetherness (if you will). He makes us all feel good, and as a result we are all the more Blessed because of it.
I was THERE, for the 'Whistle Stop' train tour ending in Baltimore... for the 'We Are One' free concert at the Lincoln Memorial... and YES, for today's HISTORIC and MONUMENTAL Presidential Inauguration.
I was in perfect view of the Capitol building, and I was in picture perfect view of the Inaugural Parade.
In gist, all I can say is that GOD is way too good! I'm forever grateful for people like Obama who can rally mankind together for positive change on multiple levels... and for Jesus (and others such as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Buddha, Ghandi, etc.), for really giving us those perfect examples to follow!
No one can do it alone, that's why we are all needed to envoke this change that's so needed in the world.
YOU are a part of history now... so live it, do not let this moment pass you by!
God Bless Us All!
Avon L. Dorsey II.
