On February 10th, 2012, British fashion designer, Misha Vaidya, debuted her By Misha Autumn/ Winter 2012 collection, titled Crown Jewels; a golden treasure chest of bejeweled colors and accents, ranging from emerald, mustard, purple, fuchsia, sapphire and amethyst.

The young designer drew inspiration from fairy-tale fantasies (as seen particularly in her whimsical gowns), presented at the Bernarducci Meisel Gallery. The statuesque models illuminated the room, dusted in gold face-glitter, showcasing modern crown-worthy designs in crinkled chiffon, sultry satin and sequins.

“Every, single piece of the collection is named after a different queen, so I tried to embody that by the colors, the fabric and the different personalities,” said Vaidya, wearing her own Excalibur dress (a glittering, black sequin mini dress with a V-neck, gold chiffon top, crossed at the waist). “Rather than designing for an actual age group, I design for a personality,” said Vaidya. Well, this woman needs to have a personality that is fashion-forward, daring enough to wear a mini dress and confident enough to wear a crown.
