DON CORNELIUS
September 27, 1936 – February 1, 2012

 (Mr. Don Cornelius)

On Wednesday, February 1st, 2012, it was learned that Mr. Don Cornelius, the legendary founder of  Soul Train (the music television show), had died from an alleged, self-inflicted gunshot wound, to the head.

Reports are still unconfirmed as to the exactness of death, but Cornelius will forever be remembered as the man who championed 'Love, Peace & Soul.'  And, "according to The Los Angeles Times' Hollywood Walk of Fame database, Cornelius’ 'Soul Train' became the longest-running, first-run nationally syndicated show in television history, bringing African American music and style to the world for 35 years."
